Trojan Women -- Euripides & Rosanna Bruno

"Here is a new comic-book version of Euripides's classic The Trojan Women, which follows the fates of Hekabe, Andromache, and Kassandra after Troy has been sacked and all its men killed. This collaboration between the visual artist Rosanna Bruno and the poet and classicist Anne Carson attempts to give a genuine representation of how human beings are affected by warfare. Therefore, all the characters take the form of animals (except Kassandra, whose mind is in another world)"

If I Go Missing -- Brianna Jonnie

A powerfully illustrated graphic novel for teens about the subject of missing and murdered Indigenous people. Combining graphic fiction and non-fiction, this young adult graphic novel serves as a window into one of the unique dangers of being an Indigenous teen in Canada today. The text of the book is derived from excerpts of a letter written to the Winnipeg Chief of Police by fourteen-year-old Brianna Jonnie -- a letter that went viral and in which, Jonnie calls out the authorities for neglecting to immediately investigate and involve the public in the search for missing Indigenous people, and urges them to "not treat me as the Indigenous person I am proud to be" if she were to be reported missing.

Black Star -- Eric Anthony Glover

In the future, interstellar travel is past its prime and sending shuttles beyond our solar system -- even for vital scientific research -- is a life-threatening gamble. However, in order to retrieve samples of an alien flower that may hold the key to saving countless lives, Harper North and her crew of scientists must journey to Eleos, a dangerous planet in deep space. But as they approach Eleos, their ship is caught in an asteroid storm and as it hurtles towards the surface, its reserve shuttle detaches, landing over 100 kilometers away. When the rest of the crew perishes in the burning wreckage of the ship, North races towards the rescue shuttle built for one, hoping to fulfill their mission and survive. But North isn't alone: The team's wilderness expert is still alive and hell-bent on hunting North down and claiming the shuttle for herself. Now, North has no choice but to reach the shuttle first -- and fast.

Kill Whitey Donovan -- Sydney Duncan

"After Anna Hoyt's sister commits suicide, Anna sets off for Atlanta to kill the man responsible for destroying her family-her fiancé, Jim 'Whitey' Donovan. But Anna, a spirited though pampered daughter of a prominent doctor, can't do it alone. To get through the hell that lay between her Alabama home and Atlanta, she makes a deal with one of the Donovan slaves, Hattie Virgil, who has an agenda all her own. In exchange for a chance at freedom, Hattie, a survivor, will lead this unlikely pair on a quest that will change them both forever. Don't miss this exciting and unapologetic adventure story, starring two powerful women who will stop at nothing to get the justice they seek, set during a time when America was at war for its own soul."

Incredible Doom Vol. 1 -- Matthew Boggart

"Allison is drowning under the weight of her manipulative stage magician father. When he brings home the family's first computer, she escapes into a thrilling new world where she meetings Samir, a like-minded new online friend who has just agreed to run away from home with her. After moving to a new town and leaving all of his friends behind, Richard receives a mysterious note in his locker with instructions on how to connect to 'Evol BBS,' a dial-in bulletin board system, and meets a fierce punk named Tina who comes into his life and shakes his entire worldview loose. Unlikely alliances, first love, and minor crime sprees abound in this . . . graphic novel debut about making connections while your world is falling apart."

Hellblazer. Rise + Fall -- Tom Taylor

"What would you part with to avoid eternal damnation? At 12 years old, John Constantine and his friends try and fail to summon... something. Truth be told, they have no idea what they're doing on the riverbed on the outskirts of town. They're just messing with what they've been told not to mess with, and that's enough for John. Witness the adolescence of John Constantine, a rebellious and clueless kid who unwittingly unleashes a demon. A demon who haunts a nation 30 years later by selling the irredeemable one percent on a scam to get into heaven, one that causes evil men with angel wings to fall from the sky. Will John stop this demon from obtaining more empires and ruining the world as we know it? Will he be happy to let a few more rich bastards fall first, like a vindictive Robin Hood? Or will sacrifices need

to be made?" The Secret to Superhuman Strength -- Alison Bechdel

"From the author of Fun Home, a profoundly affecting graphic memoir of Bechdel's lifelong love affair with exercise, set against a hilarious chronicle of fitness fads in our times"

Sleeping Beauties part 1 -- Stephen King; adapted by Rio Youers "A bizarre sleeping sickness, called Aurora, has fallen over the world. Its victims can't wake up. And all of them are women. As nations fall into chaos, those women still awake take desperate measures to stay that way, and men everywhere begin to give in to their darkest impulses.
